Tour overview

This is the day most people mean when they say they want to see Da Nang. You start in the limestone caves of the Marble Mountains, then ride one of the world's longest cable cars up to Ba Na Hills for the Golden Bridge, the French Village and the view back down over the coast.

Pickup is at 8:00 AM from your hotel and you are back around 5:00 PM. Because it is private, Tom times the cable car and the bridge around the crowds rather than around a coach schedule — and at Marble Mountains you take the elevator up, so the morning does not cost you the afternoon.

Good fit if you want

  • You only have one full day for Da Nang
  • You want the Golden Bridge photo without the coach crowd
  • Stairs are a problem — there is an elevator
  • Travelling with kids or grandparents
  • You like a mix of temples and big views

Highlights

Water Mountain by elevator

Thuy Son, the only one of the five marble peaks open to visitors — reached by elevator rather than 156 steps.

Linh Ung Pagoda & the caves

The hilltop pagoda, then Tang Chon and Huyen Khong caves, where daylight falls through the roof onto the Buddha.

River-Watching Tower

The panoramic stop at the top: Non Nuoc beach on one side, Da Nang and the Son Tra peninsula on the other.

Golden Bridge & the Hands of God

Walk the bridge held up by two giant stone hands, 1,400m above sea level.

French Village

Castles, a square and European-style streets built at the top of the mountain — plus the Flower Gardens and the second Linh Ung Pagoda.

Alpine Coaster (optional)

A single-rail toboggan run down through the forest. Pay on the spot if you fancy it.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to climb the Marble Mountains steps?+

No. There is an elevator up Thuy Son and we use it. There is still some walking and a few steps between the caves at the top, but nothing like the 156-step staircase.

How long is the cable car ride?+

About 15–20 minutes each way, over the forest and a waterfall. It is one of the longest non-stop cable cars in the world.

Is the Ba Na Hills ticket included?+

Yes — the Ba Na entrance and cable car ticket and the Marble Mountains ticket are both in the price. Only the Alpine Coaster is extra, paid on the spot if you want it.

What if it is cloudy at the top?+

Ba Na sits in the clouds often, and honestly it looks good either way. Tom watches the forecast and can flip the order of the day — Ba Na first, Marble Mountains after — if the morning looks clearer.

What should we bring?+

Comfortable shoes, a light layer (it is 10°C cooler at the top than in Hoi An), and something to cover your shoulders and knees for the pagodas.
