My Son Sanctuary is the religious heart of the ancient Champa Kingdom, often compared to Angkor Wat for its spiritual atmosphere and historic temple ruins.
This private tour keeps the day simple: hotel pickup, a dedicated local guide, a comfortable private car, and enough flexibility to match your pace.
On the way back you stop at a family kitchen in the Quang Nam countryside, where rice still becomes noodles the old way — soaked, ground, steamed into thin sheets, and cut by hand. You do each step yourself, then sit down to Mi Quang, the bowl this province is named for, made with the noodles you just cut.

Tom grew up in the Ancient Town and has guided here full time since 2019. He tells you where his family eats, which lane floods in October and which shop is only famous because it pays to be. Every tour is guided by him personally — there is no rota of freelancers behind the name.

Is there a dress code?+
My Son is a holy site. Please cover your shoulders and knees.
How long is the drive?+
From Hoi An, it takes about 1 hour to reach My Son.
Is this suitable for seniors?+
Yes. Electric buggies cover the long distance from the gate. Some walking and steps remain around the temples.
Do we make the noodles ourselves?+
Yes. The family walks you through every step — grinding the rice, steaming the sheets, and cutting them — and the Mi Quang you eat is made with the noodles you cut.
Can you cater for vegetarians?+
Yes. Tell Tom when you book and the family prepares a vegetarian Mi Quang, with tofu and mushrooms in place of pork and shrimp.
What time are the Cham dance performances?+
The site runs seven shows a day: 9:00 at the foot of tower group G, then 9:45, 10:30 and 11:15 in the performance hall; 14:00 in the hall, 14:45 at tower group G, and 16:00 in the hall. Tom times the visit so you catch one. The schedule is the site's own and can change, so he checks it on the day.
Is there anything on beyond the daily show?+
Cham folk singing runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 and 14:45, at the foot of the tower H slope. The larger Echoes of My Son programme runs on the 15th of each calendar month at 9:00 and 14:45 in zone BCD.
What time does My Son open?+
06:00 to 17:30 in summer, 06:00 to 17:00 in winter. Tom usually leaves Hoi An early: the valley is cooler before mid-morning, the light on the brick is better, and the tour groups have not arrived yet.
