Tour overview
Hoi An has dishes you cannot eat properly anywhere else in Vietnam. Cao lầu noodles need water from a specific old well. White rose dumplings come from a handful of family kitchens. We walk you to the places locals actually queue for, not the ones with the biggest signs.
We start as the heat drops and the lanterns come on. Over about four hours you eat six times, sitting on plastic stools with the families who have cooked the same dish for three generations. Your guide orders, explains, and tells you what is in the bowl before you commit.
This is a private tour, so we can slow down, skip a stop, or add another bánh mì if you are still hungry. Tell us about allergies or a vegetarian diet when you book and we route around it.

Cao lầu and white rose dumplings
Two sit-down tastings back to back, both Hoi An originals. We eat at family places on side streets, and you meet the cook who makes the dumplings by hand.

Bánh mì and grilled skewers
Standing food, the way it is meant to be eaten. A legendary bánh mì stall, then pork skewers and rice paper rolls from a charcoal grill on the corner.

Riverside fish and cold beer
We sit by the Thu Bon river for grilled fish in banana leaf, morning glory greens, and a cold local beer or soft drink. This is the long stop, so you can breathe.

Frequently asked questions
Will I be full at the end?+
Yes. Six tastings adds up to a full dinner, and most guests skip a proper meal afterwards. Come hungry and pace yourself at the noodle stop.
Can you handle vegetarian or allergy needs?+
Yes, with notice. Tell us when you book and we swap in vegetarian versions of most stops. Shellfish and peanut allergies are manageable too, but we need to know in advance so the guide can reroute.
Is the food safe to eat?+
We only use stalls we eat at ourselves, all busy, with food cooked to order in front of you. If a stop does not feel right to you, your guide swaps it for another.
Is it suitable for children?+
Very. Kids usually love the dumplings, the bánh mì, and the night market. We can dial down the chili and keep the walking short.
What if it rains?+
Most stops are covered or indoors, so the tour runs in normal rain. We bring ponchos. If a storm makes it unpleasant we move the tour to another evening or refund you.
How much walking is there?+
About two to three kilometers in total, all flat, spread across about four hours with long sitting breaks. Comfortable shoes are enough.
